Soldiers Helping Soldiers is a volunteer-based organization expanding across Canada, helping to better the lives of veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by connecting them with service and benefit providers. Soldat dans la rue Montreal section, a division of Soldats dans la rue, was created in spring 2018. Its organizing committee is made up of members of the regular force and the reserve force as well as veterans of the Canadian armed forces, first responders from the city of Montreal, and members of the region’s business community. The ultimate goal of the chapter is to help homeless veterans in Montreal and its surrounding areas. The chapter plans to be in full operation in the fall of 2019.
