Soldiers Helping Soldiers Ottawa Chapter, Section - Des soldats qui aident des soldats, Section d'Ottawa

About the Service

Soldiers Helping Soldiers is a volunteer-based organization expanding across Canada, helping to better the lives of veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by connecting them with service and benefit providers. In 2013, Soldiers Helping Soldiers was founded in Ottawa by Captain Vicki Ryan. Since then, Soldiers Helping Soldiers Ottawa has become part of the fabric of the community that serves the homeless, a trusted and valued partner to many service providers, and a source of real support for veterans. The Ottawa team’s dedication and efforts led to the creation of Soldiers Helping Soldiers as a national not-for-profit in 2017, supported by key partners, including the Canadian Armed Forces and Support our Troops. These foundations, experiences, and lessons learned from the years of volunteerism in Ottawa are being shared with and leveraged by new Chapters being formed elsewhere in Canada.
